A very important day in our calendar at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Toowoomba is Foundation Day. This is where our staff and volunteers are recognised for their long and dedicated service and this year we celebrated on May 20.

Pressure injuries are always painful and can be fatal. They decrease a person’s enjoyment of life even after they are healed … often for the rest of their life.

Witches and warlocks may be on the prowl at the annual St Vincent’s Private Hospital Toowoomba and West Star Motors Mercedes Benz Golf Day, now that the date has been set for Friday 13th May. Now in it's 16th year this is shaping up to be bigger and better than previous years and as one of the hospital’s major fundraisers for the year and we are hoping for a full field to play again. Being on Friday the 13th we please feel free to dress for a Black Friday theme (not compulsory). This year’s event starts at 10.30am and is being held at the Middle Ridge Golf Club. It will be a four man ambrose with a shot gun start at 11.30am. There will be lots of fantastic prizes up for grabs thanks to the generosity from Colin Mackay and The Good Guys.

Thank-you all for the most warm welcome to me in this role. I have been out to meet many staff members and will continue to do so. I will spend the next few weeks getting to find my way around the facility and learning about this wonderful area.

This week I am delighted to announce that St Vincent’s Health Australia has successfully recruited to the General Manager position for St Vincent’s Private Hospital Toowoomba.
