From CEO Kathryn McKeefry

15 April 2016

Thank-you all for the most warm welcome to me in this role. I have been out to meet many staff members and will continue to do so. I will spend the next few weeks getting to find my way around the facility and learning about this wonderful area.

Most people would have seen that we are implementing changes to our car parking arrangements. We have engaged car parking management company Care Park and will begin paid parking on May 16, 2016. We are currently making improvements to both the Scott Street car park and our on-site parking areas with re-surfacing works and line marking. The schedule of works is due to be completed on May 6 and we will have an extra 40 car parks as a result. Information about this process is available on our website.

As a result of a funding injection of $3.8 million from the St Vincent’s Health Australia Board we will have some major improvements at our hospital. We worked with staff members to identify a range of new clinical equipment required and most items have been ordered and installed. We will also use some of these funds to conduct some ward renovations and this week painting and carpet laying has commenced in the Dorothea Devine Unit (Maternity). Over the next few months St Damien’s Unit (surgical), St Raphael’s Unit (medical) and some main thoroughfares will also be renovated.

Planning for the theatre redevelopment is also making excellent progress and I am delighted to have joined this impressive team to make the journey together.

God Bless

Kathryn McKeefry
