Our specialised Breast Care Nurse provides women and their families with information and emotional support throughout breast cancer treatment and beyond.
Role of the breast care nurse The Breast Care Nurse will provide support and education, and coordinate your care from diagnosis, through treatment and follow-up care. This also includes women who are experiencing benign breast issues.
The Breast Care Nurse will:
She works to ensure women living with breast cancer are more aware of the support services available in the hospital and community.
A Breast Care Nurse is a member of a multidisciplinary team caring for women with breast cancer or other breast conditions. Other members of the team include surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, physiotherapists, dieticians and oncology nurses.
Our Breast Care Nurse, Bronwyn King, is available for appointments and phone support. Ms King is a specialist in her field and has more than 20 years’ nursing experience.
