Birth Registration And Records

Registering your baby

You must register the birth of your baby within 60 days of the birth. Registration is a requirement for getting your child’s birth certificate, an important form of identification.
We will provide you with the birth registration application and guidelines that you will need to complete and submit to the Registry of Births, Deaths, Marriages and Divorces.
We will also help you to understand what paperwork you need to complete following your baby’s birth.
We will also inform you of the Government’s Paid Parental Scheme.

Baby health record book

You will be given a Baby Health Record Book with details of your baby’s birth filled out by your midwife prior to discharge.
You will take the Baby Health Record Book to your Family Health Clinic visits, GP appointments, and for all immunisations to record your baby’s progress.
