To help prepare for the birth of your baby, we offer a range of pregnancy, birth and parenting education classes.
The program is designed to answer your questions regarding:
• preparing for the birth of your baby
• parenting skills
• baby’s needs
• meeting your baby’s nutritional needs with breastfeeding or formula.
These small group classes are informal and interactive and run regularly by our midwives. You can choose from evening classes on Mondays and Tuesdays from 7-9pm once per week for 6 weeks, or a weekend workshop 8am to 4pm Saturday and Sunday.
Please contact your health insurer to determine if this service is part of your cover – some funds cover the cost of classes.
If not attending classes, a ward tour can be arranged for you and your support person/s. Tours are held on Thursdays between 5.30-6pm. To arrange a tour, contact the Admission Call Centre on phone 1800 655 099 or book classes with the midwife during your preadmission interview.
Classes are popular, so please book your place early. When booking into hospital please tell our Admission Call Centre Staff if you want to attend parenting classes.
