Dr Ryan Schrale lives locally in Toowoomba and is based at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Toowoomba. He also attends as a Senior Consultant Cardiologist at the Toowoomba Base Hospital and is a Senior Lecturer in Medicine at the James Cook University School of Medicine. He is a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Cardiology, European Society of Cardiology, and the American College of Cardiology. Originally from South Australia, Dr Schrale graduated in Medicine from the University of Adelaide and went on to specialist physician training at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and Flinders Medical Centre, Adelaide. In 2005-6 Dr Schrale held the postgraduate Clinical Interventional Fellowship at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford. He then moved to Boston, Massachusetts for the 2006-7 Senior Cardiovascular Medicine Interventional Fellowship at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston. He was also a Clinical Fellow at the Harvard Medical School. During this time he also received a Masters degree from Oxford University in Evidence-Based Health Care. Returning home to Australia, Dr Schrale worked in Adelaide for three years before moving to Townsville in 2010. After nine enjoyable years in the tropics Dr Schrale has moved to Toowoomba for family reasons. With a family of 4 primary school aged children, when not at work Dr Schrale enjoys time outdoors!
