Patient Consent

You will be asked to give your written consent before any treatment, surgery or procedure is performed. Your doctor will discuss the options and expected outcomes with you before any major treatment, anaesthetic or surgery is performed.

Consent for minors

For minors, consent by a parent, guardian or nominated next of kin is required. If the patient is a minor or has an intellectual disability or requires an interpreter, a nominated person may accompany the patient to the operating theatre, to facilitate communication between the patient and the attending staff in the area.
