Visitor Access

From 4pm, Saturday 31st July 2021 until further notice our hospital will be closed to visitors and non-essential people due to increased risk of COVID-19. 

It is a condition of entry you must: 

  • Be a patient, approved support persons*, staff or visiting medical officer 
  • Complete the COVID-19 Screening Form 
  • Pass through the thermographic cameras 


  • One support person to a patient under the age of 18 years  
  • One support person for a patient admitted for care related to pregnancy  
  • One support person to a patient with a disability who requires support from a disability carer. 
  • One support person to a patient presenting at the Emergency Department, if the hospital believes it necessary 
  • Limited exemptions may be made on compassionate grounds for end-of-life support 

Patients, approved support persons, staff and VMOs entering who reside in the following locations, or have been in the following locations in the last 14 days must wear a mask while in this hospital. Masks are available from Entrances 1 and 6 and on wards.  

Lockyer Valley (including Withcott & Murphys Creek) 
Sunshine Coast
Gold Coast
Scenic Rim

You may not visit if:

  • You are currently diagnosed with COVID-19
  • You are awaiting a COVID-19 test result
  • You have been asked to self-quarantine
  • You have had contact with a person with COVID-19 or have returned from overseas in the past 14 days
  • You have a fever (37.5 degrees or more) or a cough, runny nose, sore throat, shortness of breath, fatigue, diarrhoea, vomiting or nausea or loss of smell and/or taste
  • Have been in a declared hot spot in the past 14 days. 

Staying with children

One parent may stay overnight in a recliner chair with a child up to 15 years of age if required.

Visitor safety

Please don’t use mobile phones near monitoring equipment as they may interfere with our patient systems.

St Vincent’s Private Hospital Toowoomba is a smoke-free hospital. Please do not smoke anywhere on site, including the car parks and outdoor areas.
